Restaurant and hospitality millwork in Toronto

Bars, banquettes, serveries, and feature walls are the highest-visibility millwork a shop builds — and some of the hardest to price. Here's what drives the cost on hospitality work in the GTA and how to quote it without losing a day to the takeoff.

Custom bar fabrication

A bar is never one line item. The quote has to capture the die wall and front paneling, the bar top (solid surface, stone, or hardwood — usually a separate supply line), the back bar with its shelving and display cabinets, foot rails, and the under-bar equipment clearances that change the cabinet construction. Curved fronts and radius work multiply shop hours fast, and the finish schedule on a hospitality job is usually the most demanding in the set.

Banquette seating

Custom banquette seating prices as a frame plus a finish: the millwork shop builds the carcass — bases, backs, and any integrated storage — and upholstery is either a sub-trade allowance or a separate line. The takeoff detail that matters is linear footage by height and depth, because a 24-inch single back and a 48-inch channel back are very different builds at the same length. Watch for banquettes drawn on the furniture plan but specified in the millwork section — that's where scope gets missed.

Serveries, host stands, and the rest

Beyond the headline pieces, hospitality sets carry serveries and grab-and-go counters, host stands, waiter stations, wine and display shelving, and washroom vanities. Each is small, but together they're a meaningful share of the quote — and they're the lines most likely to be scattered across detail sheets. Stone and quartz tops should always be broken out as their own supply lines, never buried in the casework rate.

Quoting hospitality work faster

CASEWRX PRO reads the full drawing set and pulls out every millwork line — the bar, the banquettes, the waiter stations — priced from your shop's own rate card. Stone and solid-surface tops come through as separate supply lines, possible duplicates are flagged instead of double-counted, and uncertain lines are marked for your review. You spend your time on the judgment calls — the radius work, the finish schedule — instead of the page-by-page hunt.

Every new shop starts with 3 free quotes to use within 14 days — no card required.
